Melbourne-born label E Nolan has rapidly built a loyal following offering impeccable made-to-measure suiting for women that is inclusive, accessible and timeless. Founded by designer and tailor Emily Nolan, E Nolan offers a fresh, relaxed and playful take on women’s suiting that champions versatility and timelessness for women of all shapes, ages and sizes.
At 11 years old, Emily learnt to sew from her two grandmothers, both of whom worked in the fashion industry as a dressmaker and milliner. Instilling values of hard work and a good sense of humour, both women shaped Emily’s vision for a fashion label that was female-led, inherently sustainable and, most importantly, built on garments of quality. After being named The Whitehouse School of Design’s Designer of the Year in her 2016 graduating class, Emily’s first range for E Nolan – a capsule collection of embroidered tees -was bought by the iconic Melbourne luxury retailer Le Louvre.
Today, through private appointment at the E Nolan Dressing Room in Melbourne’s east, Emily brings together her love of precision tailoring and fabulous building with her vision of cultivating stronger relationships between her clients and their wardrobes. E Nolan’s first ready-to-wear collection, released at VAMFF in March 2020, will bring together an evolution of its signature embroidered tees with classic tailored shirting, knitwear and its classic suiting reimagined in new fabrics, colourways and silhouettes. By challenging the notion of what a traditional tailoring house can be, E Nolan is part of a new wave of thinking in fashion that champions self-expression, creativity and individuality.
