Belt Bag Workshop from Japanese Kimono
Learn and create a unique belt bag with Japanese silks.
You will join a class conducted by the designer of Japanese Kimono, travelling from Japan with a suitcase full of treasures.
Together we will create a one of a kind accessory, turning century-old Kimono into contemporary functional designs.
All the materials, including precious textiles sourced in Japan, patterns, as well as all sewing tools will be provided. So, if the world of sewing is totally foreign to you, don’t worry and come challenge yourself.
You will be explained all the basics techniques required to create a stunning object.
If you have good sewing notions, extra options will be offered for you to modify the design and challenge yourself even more.
10% of profits will be donated to the Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund, running by Victoria Zoos to provide emergency care for wild animals (https://www.zoo.org.au/fire-fund/). Besides the workshop, and during the entire festival, Japanese kimono fabrics will be on sale at the Second Stitch and which 100% of profits will also be donated.
