Gorman: Ten Years of Collaborating

In celebration of Gorman’s decade-long collaboration with visual artists, Heide is presenting a two-week pop-up exhibition in the iconic modernist building, Heide II.

The exhibition will feature garments from a new range by Gorman in conjunction with ten artists who have worked with the Australian clothing label since 2009. The garments will be exhibited alongside the artworks inspiring the textiles by each artist: Rachel Castle, Megan Grant, Claire Johnson, Dana Kinter, Elke Kramer, Rhys Lee, Ellie Malin, Mirka Mora, Liz Payne and Miranda Skoczek.

The project will be launched with a runway event on Sunday 3 March 2019 presenting the new exclusive range, and opening the 2019 Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF).

Gorman: Ten Years of Collaborating will coincide with the culmination of Heide Museum of Modern Art’s summer exhibition Mirka Mora—Pas de Deux: Drawings and Dolls (principal sponsor Gorman).

On Wednesday 6 March from 5.30–7.30pm, join Victorian-based contemporary artist Rhys Lee in-conversation with Lisa Gorman as they discuss their creative journey of collaboration from canvas to runway.
