2018 Ideas Program announced
We have announced our stellar and much anticipated lineup of speakers that will descend on Melbourne in March 2018.
Taking in the panoramic view of Sydney Harbour from the rooftop of the Sydney AMP Building, Festival CEO, Graeme Lewsey, together with AMP Capital Shopping Centres, Alicia Kemp, and 2017 Business Speaker alumna Joanna Gunn, Lane Crawford, unveiled the 2018 Ideas Program.
Graeme Lewsey spoke of the revolutions developing in the industry, “We are embracing transformational changes to keep up with consumer demand for innovation and instant gratification.”
The Festival Ideas program will open with this cosmos of thinking, the act of pushing against convention often means facing adversity.
On Thursday 8 March, the stage will again be filled with a panel of dynamic and inspiring speakers. Presented by MIMCO and marie claire, the event urges all to help forge a better working world and a more inclusive gender equal world so women can continue to unleash their limitless potential.
Speakers will include Liane Moriarty, global bestselling author of Big Little Lies, Natasha Stott Despoja AM and Dr Nikki Stamp, one of only eleven female Cardiothoracic Surgeons in Australia and will be hosted by Nicky Briger, Editor of marie claire.
On the evening of Thursday 8th March 2018, the Festival will for the first time present uncensored real talk from some of the most prominent women in Australian media. Supported by Deloitte and hosted by Glynis Traill-Nash, Fashion Editor of The Australian, join General Manager of Pacific Publishing, Jackie Frank, Harper’s BAZAAR’s Editor–in-Chief, Kellie Hush, Group Publisher of Allure Media, Alison Rice and the iconic Ita Buttrose who needs no introduction.
The centrepiece of the Ideas Program, presented by Visit Victoria and AMP Capital Shopping Centres, supported by WISH Magazine. The event will be held on Friday 9th March.
Speakers for 2018 will include Wen Zhou, CEO and Co-Founder of 3.1 Phillip Lim, Fanny Moizant, Co-Founder, APAC VP, Director of Communications at Vestiaire Collective and returning to Australia will be Jarrad Serafine-Clark, Partner / Director Creative Services KCD INC, who is responsible for the creativity and staging of the International runway shows for Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, John Galliano and Versace, to name but a few. More high profile speakers to be announced in the new year.
An exciting addition to the Festival’s Ideas Program will be the introduction of Fashion Talks, focusing on the millennial audience and digital media. Four, one-hour talks covering Monetising Your Social Platform, Social Media Photography, Shopping With The Future Generation and Who What Wear Career Codes.
Guest speakers throughout the day will include influencers and sisters, Jess and Stef Dadon of How Two Live, photographer and founder of Streetsmith, Liz Sunshine and fashion influencer and blogger, Lisa Hamilton of See Want Shop, and Allure Media’s publisher Alison Rice.
