Trend Report: Hair and Beauty at VAMFF 2019
From subtle soft pinks and fall-where-they-may curls, to bold lipstick and big hair, here’s a look at the hair and beauty trends at VAMFF this year, led by Sarah Laidlaw, Make Up Director and Kenneth Stoddart, Hair Director at Priceline Pharmacy.
MAKE UP TRENDS
Are you partial to a bold lip? The staple red lip is back in full force - though, was it ever out? Wear a soft stained rouge for a daytime look or with a liner for a precise, highly pigmented statement lip.
The hints of sparkle on this year’s runway weren’t subtle. The glitter eye was taken to a new dimension with flashy metallics and sequined glam.
Flattering washes of sheer colour were worn on the eyes, cheeks and lips for an ultra-feminine look. Reach for palettes of beige, apricots, soft pinks and mauves to achieve this gentle beauty mood.
Unplug the hair straightener and embrace the ringlets. Natural curls and textures were celebrated on the runway with wavy, kinky, bouncy hair.
The sleek, low ponytail and neat plaits delivered polished glamour. The glossy, smooth finish offered a healthy shine and impeccable ladylike look.
This 2019-approved style is versatile and effortlessly cool. Comb the hair back from the face haphazardly to achieve the look – it’s all about imperfection and volume.
