Dan Parsons is Visa’s Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific. In this role Dan helps merchants and acquirers remove friction from payments to improve their customer’s experience when paying with Visa.
With over twenty years of payments experience Dan has built a reputation for building strategic partnerships and world class teams across a variety of geographies and disciplines.
Originally from the UK Dan moved to Australia to escape the cold winters and is now based in Sydney. He holds a degree in Business Studies from the University of Brighton.
After spending 20 years at American Express he moved to Visa in 2017. Whilst at Amex Dan was a founding member of the Global Network Services organisation, Amex’s network business and worked in a variety of areas including Finance, Operations, Business Development and Strategy as part of the team that built a global network of issuing and acquiring partners.
Dan then spent 5 years in Amex’s Acquiring Business as Head of Sales and Acquiring Partnerships for Australia and New Zealand where he signed and developed a number of regional first partnerships for the company.
During his time he was awarded the Chairman’s award for innovation and The President’s Club award for leadership.
